The early days of life with a newborn baby are a special season—a time shaped by new routines, quiet adjustments, and the steady learning curve that comes with becoming parents.
I had the opportunity to photograph the start of this season for Kenzie and Hunter. This session took place in their home, where the environment already felt familiar and lived-in. The nursery details, the way light moved through the space, and the presence of their sweet pups, Louie and Hardy, all helped set an easy pace for the morning. The focus stayed on keeping things comfortable, following baby’s lead and capturing how it felt.
This session was guided with intention while still leaving room for flexibility. Working in the home allowed for natural breaks, easy transitions, and the comfort of having anything you might need on hand. It’s an approach that supports families in this early stage, when simplicity and ease matter most.
Below are a few highlights from Kenzie and Hunter’s December in-home newborn session.
