I love the way Brookney described the photos they hoped to have at the end of their session – ” I’m really hoping to capture intimate, special moments through these photos more so than staged group shots… though a few of those would be fine.” That pretty much sums up the way I run my photo sessions. I LOVE candid images. They are my favorite to hang on my own walls because they tell the story of our family. Of course I also want a photo of my whole family smiling at the camera but I will cherish a gallery full of photos of my kids cackling, my husband wrestling with our boys, hugs and snuggles, etc. These communicate the unique relationships in our family.
So when I read the Chamberlain family’s inquiry, I instantly knew we would be a great fit! We had a wonderful time at their session at the Knoxville Botanical Gardens, playing with rocks and enjoying games together to get lots of genuine moments. It’s very normal for toddlers to be done with photos quickly because they want to explore and play, so we always start with everyone smiling at the camera. After that, I’m prepared to play silly games, throw grass, look for fun rocks, etc. to get kiddos engaged and enjoying the session. And it’s the most fun! Enjoy this peek into the Chamberlain family’s gallery!
