As a Knoxville family photographer, Lakeshore Park is one of my favorite locations, especially in the fall! It offers a variety of backgrounds without having to walk too far, including an open grassy field and a tree lined walkway. It’s also in a great location in the Bearden area, close to restaurants for a dinner out after photos!
Welcome to the Miller family’s Lakeshore Park family photo session! This family is extra special because Lauren is my middle son’s tutor at our homeschool co-op. Our sons have become the best little buddies. In fact, Wyatt (Lauren’s son) asked me multiple times during the session if Connor (my son) would be coming after the photos were done. How adorable are five-year olds?!
We started the session on the main walk at the top of the hill at Lakeshore. I love this area because of the hanging lights and trees that line the walkway. And in the fall, especially, the leaves are stunning. Even with some construction going on in the distance, we were able to get some beautiful shots of the whole family and some individual groupings.
During the second half of the session, we moved down into a grassy field area of Lakeshore Park and let the kids run around a bit. I find that allowing kids to be kids during a session is the best way to make it to the end with happy participants instead of tears. Plus, the best candid shots happen when kids are just playing and being themselves! We wrapped up our time together by capturing some photos of just mom and dad. This is a priority for me, because many of my client haven’t had a professional photo of just the two of them since their wedding! I’ve held babies on my hip or toddlers on my back to make these shots happen – they’re super important to me!
