When it comes to newborn photography, there are many different styles and approaches. As a natural newborn photographer in Knoxville, I love to capture the story of a brand new baby joining a family in an organic and candid way. I always start newborn sessions with baby wrapped and lying on my posing beanbag. I spend a good bit of time getting them into a deep sleep so that I can go through my posing workflow. (My clients have always fed baby before arriving, which is a tip from my session prep guide).
Once baby is asleep, I take several photos in a variety of natural, neutral wraps, as well as close-up shots of all their tiny details – lips, hair, toes, etc. Once these are finished, I’ll leave baby swaddled and get a large variety of photos with mom and dad, just mom, just dad and siblings if they have any. The whole family is always included in newborn photos! I love guiding my clients into poses and letting them unfold naturally, capturing their genuine interaction.
