UT Gardens | The Cupp Family

filed in

There is something incredibly special about getting the whole family together, and this extended family session with the Cupp family at UT Gardens was the perfect reminder of why we love these sessions so much.

Photographed at the beginning of June, UT Gardens was full of beautiful greenery and colorful blooms, creating the perfect backdrop for a relaxed evening together. The weather was beautiful, the kids had room to explore, and everyone was simply excited to spend time with one another.

This session brought together grandparents, two families, and one proud uncle—all in one place. While it’s always wonderful to capture each individual family, there’s something extra meaningful about photographing the connections that span generations. Grandparents laughing with their grandchildren, cousins playing together, siblings catching up, and everyone gathering for one big family portrait are the moments that become even more valuable as the years go by.

One of our favorite things about extended family sessions is that they allow us to create a gallery that serves everyone. We capture the large group together, each individual family, grandparents with all of the grandchildren, grandparents with each family, sibling groups, cousins, and plenty of candid moments in between. By the end of the session, every household walks away with meaningful images they’ll treasure for years.

UT Gardens is one of our favorite locations for extended family sessions because it offers a variety of beautiful backdrops within a short walking distance. Whether you’re hoping for colorful flowers, lush greenery, open pathways, or classic garden scenery, there’s no shortage of gorgeous spots to create timeless family portraits.

The Cupp family brought so much warmth and joy to their session, and it was a privilege to document this season of life for them. We know how rare it can be to have everyone together in one place, and we’re always honored when families choose Knox Family Photo to preserve those moments.

If you’ve been thinking about gathering the entire family for updated portraits, don’t wait for the “perfect” time. These sessions become some of the most cherished photographs a family owns, simply because they include everyone who matters most.
