Indoor Play in Knoxville

filed in

Can we talk about the stir-craziness that can settle in when winter weather keeps our little ones cooped up indoors? Trust me, I get it. As a mama raising and homeschooling three energetic boys, I’ve navigated the challenges of keeping kiddos entertained during those chilly days when outdoor play isn’t an option. I’ve rounded up ten fantastic indoor play options right here in Knoxville that cater to both the little tots and the older kiddos. Many of these are favorites of my own family – so, let’s dive into the wonderful options for indoor play in Knoxville!

For the Little Ones

The Muse Knoxville

First up is The Muse Knoxville, an interactive science museum that’s a dream for curious young minds. We frequently visit The Muse and consider it part of our school day because of the many hands-on, educational play stations. My boys LOVE when I announce that we’re headed to The Muse! Check out their upcoming events and plan your visit here.

Smart Toys and Books

A personal favorite for my youngest kiddo is Smart Toys and Books—think really awesome toy store meets mega play place, with a giant pirate ship! (And all the boys moms say hooray!) This charming spot is a treasure trove of educational toys and books that engage and delight young minds. Planted right in the middle of the adorable Franklin Square plaza, Smart Toys and Books provides a perfect indoor escape for toddlers. Check out their offerings and plan your visit here.

The Little Gym

The Little Gym in Knoxville offers a great way for kids to jump around and get out loads of energy! With classes and structured play sessions for children ages 4-months to 10 years, The Little Gym provides a fantastic indoor space for kiddos to have a ton of fun. Check out their class offerings and plan your visit here.

Now, let’s shift gears and explore three fantastic indoor play spots that cater to our older children.

For the Older Kiddos

As your kiddos grow, so do their interests and energy levels. Here are my three favorite indoor play options in Knoxville that are perfect for the older kids.

Strike & Spare Family Bowl: Bowling Fun for All Ages

My boys love to go bowling (and definitely inherited some of my competitiveness so it’s a lot of fun)! With glow bowling and a vibrant atmosphere, it’s a perfect setting for a family-friendly competition. Lace up those bowling shoes and plan your visit here.

Urban Air Adventure Park

Alright, if my older 2 boys were writing this blog post, this would be the only place on the list. Urban Air Adventure Park is a one-stop-shop for all things adventure, climbing and energetic fun. From trampolines to a ninja warrior course, your older kids will have a blast exploring the various attractions. Discover the adventures that await at Urban Air here.

Farragut Golf and Games: Indoor Mini Golf Adventure

Farragut Golf and Games is our favorite arcade option in Knoxville. It gives all the nostalgic arcade feels with actual tokens and tickets (that my youngest LOVES to feed into the ticket machine)! We love to buy a big cup of tokens and let boys go crazy! The space is small enough that I feel safe letting them run around and can easily keep track of everyone (even the 3 year old). Farragut Golf and Games also offers a great mini-golf course outdoors for when the weather is a bit warmer. Learn more about their offerings and plan your mini-golf escapade here.

Alright mamas, I hope this list helps the next time you need to load all the kiddos up and head somewhere that they can play and have fun! Whether your kids like to climb and be adventurous or dance and wiggle around, Knoxville has a myriad of options to cater to their interests. Enjoy the indoor adventures, and here’s to creating winter memories with your little!
